You can study anyone among the Forestry and agriculture. Both agriculture and Forestry have got good scope in the context of Nepal.

As you must have known since childhood Nepal is an Agricultural country. A majority of the people of Nepal depend upon agriculture to sustain their living. Agriculture studies deal with the crop farming, horticulture , floriculture , and livestock rearing. However, it is a good and a life sustaining profession too if done in the commercial scale.

Agriculture opens up a wide scope in our country where agriculture is a major profession. The country projects several programmes at the national level to bring agriculture reforms and make the agriculture a better profession and increase the productivity of the country. The country has got Agricultural Officers in several VDCS and municipalities of the country. They provide information to the farmers for the scientific methods of farming through which they can get a good harvest. They provide several seminars and awareness programmes on the topic of the use of the manures and the fertilizers for maintaining the soil quality and maintaining the fertility of the soil as well as provide knowledge on the combined Agriculture pattern which involves the animal rearing and the crop growing at the same time. Apart from these, there are several Agriculturalists who are responsible for the research in the different food crops and vegetables in the improvement of the seeds which are better in terms of growth, production nd resistant to diseases They also research for the methods for the protection of the crops from several diseases and protect the agricultural outcomes. The country of Nepal annually allocates several posts for the Agriculture Officers which remain sometimes vacant because of the lack of required Agriculture graduates. So there’s a huge scope of studying the Agriculture in the Nepal.

And again with the Forestry, almost 40% of the country is covered with the forest and it is of great importance to the country. The forestry study deals with the study of the forest and the wildlife. So, the ones aspiring to study forestry need to have a keen interest in the wildlife and the forest. Forestry study is all about the forest. It deals with creating, conserving, managing, using, conserving and repairing forests and associated resources to meet the desired goals, needs and values for human benefits. The Foresters with the knowledge about the forest under the analysis of the different surveys make provisions for the timber, fuel-wood, wildlife habitat, natural water quality management, recreation, landscape and community protection, employment, aesthetically appealing landscapes, biodiversity management, watershed management, erosion control and preserving forests as they are the sinks to the carbon dioxide and the sources of important oxygen. The country is in need of the Foresters to take care of the forests because of the illegal activities growing rapidly on the forests areas. These illegal activities of deforestation have been giving rise to several problems like the decrease ion the forest density, and the scarcity of the water resources, extinction of the wildlife, the increasing landslides in several forests ranges of the country, depletion in the biodiversity and several more consequences. The country has been launching several programmes on a regular basis for the conservation of the forests but due to the lack of the essential Forest professionals the essential efforts are being hindered. So, Nepal holds great scopes for the forests as several NGOs , INGOs, and the Nepal government have their prime concern in the forests.

Both the Forestry and Agriculture are 4-year courses in Nepal. For getting admissions into these study programmes, one has to go through very competitive entrance examinations. The eligibility for the programmes is intermediate level studies at science or equivalent studies in the Agriculture and forestry for the Agriculture and Forestry respectively.
