Masters in Sociology after Bachelors of Pharmacy. Will it be fruitful?

Though you have not mentioned here in the query, the most important thing that you need to consider is the possible factor that pushes you to change the field. Pharmacy and sociology are two diverse areas and it’s difficult to find a link between them. Bachelor in pharmacy is the course that provides you the skill and competence to understand medicines, its use in patients, production and quality control. As a pharmacy student, you have acquired all these skills. Pharmacy graduates mainly work as pharmacists in drugstores, pharmaceutical companies or work in marketing of medicine. While sociology is a completely different field. It is the study of human social behavior and its origin, development, organization and institution. This means you are going to new genre. You may be simply interested to this field, may have lost interest in your previous field or you may have wanted to change your career path. There are less chances that your knowledge in pharmacy will benefit in sociology. But that does not mean that you should not change the field. If you are really interested in sociology and have a clear future plan, it does not matter anymore. Some of us realize our interest later and it’s better to follow it than never. Students with a bachelor degree in any field are eligible to join masters in sociology. The career is diverse, and you can find position in social welfare organizations, INGOS and NGOs, research organization, criminal justice, law firms, hospitals, medical centers and many more. You can also work independently as educator, researcher and counselor. Lastly, I want to tell you that whether your choice to study masters in sociology will be fruitful or not solely depends on your future plan. If you have strong reason and interest to study sociology you can continue it. But if you don’t have clear reason to study, I advise you to do some research and take decision accordingly.
