Hello everyone, I am wondering on how attractive is the banking sector in Nepal for job and career. How much do commercial banks pay to its employees. I think it is not much difficult to get a entry level job in Banks with good marks and little experience in Audit firm ( I recently joined an audit firm of my uncle now as a junior trainee and will be learning there for few months, part time). I would like to know what is the average pay scale and average salary of banking professionals in banks. Do they have different paying patterns for workers of Kathmandu and workers of other cities/rural areas. I have a keen interest to be a successful banker so want to know the future in Banking sector of Nepal. What benefits other than salary do banks provide in general and Which is the highest paying bank in Nepal. Is it true that working in bank is boring? Any bankers here? Please reply with details. That will help me and others wishing to get in the banking sector. Thanks.

Nepal’s central bank capped perks and benefits of CEOs working bank and financial institutions in Nepal.
The salary of CEOs in Nepal ranges from NRs 585,000 to NRs 25.24 million a year. The CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Nepal earned the highest amount, while that of Nepal Bank Limited earned the least among the chiefs of 27 commercial banks in operation. The monthly salary ranges from NRs 45,000 to NRs 1942000 (at an exchange rate of US$1=NRs72, the range is US$625 to US$26972 per month). Among fully Nepali-owned banks CEO of Kumari Bank, has the highest fixed salary. He gets Rs 1.04 million per month. The fixed salary does not include other benefits.
I got this data from a report of 2010 so this might be outdated but still relevant. Do some adds and subtractions if you need the vague idea of what CEOs of banks earn today in 2016.

Average and Median Monthly Salary Comparison in Nepal in Banking (Excluding SEO and Central Manager)
Maximum salary of banker in Nepal: 80,000 NPR
Median salary of commercial and development banker in Nepal: 25,250 NPR
Average salaty of bank staffs in Nepal: 30,250 NPR
Minimum salary of bank staffs (white color jobs): 12,500 NPR

30,000-40,000-50,000 according to your experience on work. Government banks like Rastriya Banijya Bank , Nepal Rastra Bank have attractive benefits along with salary. Private banks are also improving the pay for their employees in recent days.

I think the basic salary of jounior assistants in bank is around Nrs 15000 while senior assistants get around 25000. Some commercial banks pay 50000+ to branch managers. Apart from basic salary, bank staffs also get attractive benefits and bonuses. Many banks provide loan facility to its staffs after completing certain year of service.
